Operating at industrial strength speed with a maximum duty cycle designed to meet even the heaviest demands, the HP Laserjet 9040 is a compact business grade multifunction center that can print, copy, scan, and fax at speeds previously unobtainable on a machine priced for the small office. Offering just about every feature one could ask for in a full sized copy machine, this small unit brings massive power and speed down to a level that almost any business could manage.
There is no need to worry about upgrading with multiple paper trays on the HP Laserjet 9040, as it comes already at its maximum with four trays included right out of the box, brining the units standard paper storage total to 3,100 sheets. No further trays can be added but, considering the unit’s considerable paper handling ability, it’s doubtful that the device would be insufficient under any circumstances.
A print speed of up to 50 pages per minute means that even massive document projects will print or copy with incredible swiftness, keeping your network freed up and downtime at an absolute minimum. The HP Laserjet 9040’s maximum monthly duty cycle of 300,000 imprinted pages also ensures that not only is the device built for speed, but quantity as well. Though the recommended monthly duty cycle is only 8,000 to 20,000 pages, HP still backs this product with its limited one year replacement plan and on site service plan, which includes a year of phone and web based technical support as well.
HP’s Instant On fuser technology reduces product warm up time to zero, and brings the devices first page out time down to less than 8 seconds. With the help of a built in 533 MHz processor, lag time is virtually non existent, and, along with built in on board random access memory, the device should operate at optimal speeds even under heavy conditions.
Standard RAM memory runs high to begin with at 256 MBs, but an additional DIMM slot, as well as two internal Flash memory slots, allow users to boost memory up to a total of no more than 512 MBs. Other hardware additions include an analog fax accessory which enables features such as fax forwarding, a junk fax barrier, and polling. Users will not have to purchase an external duplexor separately because an automatic, internal one is incorporated into the hardware.
With an internal duplexor, double sided printing becomes automatic, and two sided faxes and copies can be programmed as well to create a professional look and feel, as well as cut down on paper costs by as much as half. The device’s output capacity of 1,000 sheets means that massive print projects can be left unattended without concern.
The HP Laserjet 9040 should not be considered cheap, but by comparison to larger machines that do more or less the same thing, it is not only much more manageable in size, but in price as well. Not only small offices, but medium and even large ones as well would benefit from this powerful MFC.
