With a variety of internet related services available, this first generation intelligent HP internet enabled printer, the HP LaserJet 8150, paves the way for a new kind of connectivity regarding printers. With features such as remote printer management and smart print supply systems, printer operators don’t even have to be in the same building, or the same country for that matter, as the printer they are configuring. With internet integration, users will find that this new layer of connectivity assists in achieving the maximum productivity from their investment.

Flexible, modern features such as edge to edge printing and HP transmit once technology, paired with a hefty specification list, make the HP LaserJet 8150 stand out as one of the more impressive monochrome laser office printers on the market today. Printing at speeds of up to 32 pages per minute means that, even under intensive network usage, the device will make short work of almost any print demand.

The HP LaserJet 8150 comes standard with a 1,100 sheet paper storage capacity which is composed of two 500 sheet trays as well as a 100 sheet multi purpose input tray. For additional storage, one or two more 500 sheet trays can be incorporated into the device, or users can choose the enormous 2,000 sheet tray option for a 3,100 sheet potential paper input capacity, as well as a single tray that can hold an unprecedented four reams of paper at one time.

The 100 sheet multifunctional tray is excellent for printing to special media types such as transparencies, card stock, and custom letterhead but, in a very strange twist of fate, the HP LaserJet 8150 is only compatible with paper sizes as small as 3.9 in x 7.5 in, meaning 3 x 5 cards are out of the question. The good news, however, is that wide format, 11.7 in x 17.7 in paper can, in fact, be used with the device.

A conservative 32 MBs of memory come standard with the unit, while an equally conservative 3.2 GB hard drive is available for purchase separately and can be used for retention of critical data. The HP LaserJet 8150’s maximum monthly duty cycle of up to 150,000 pages should strike confidence in small offices with even the toughest print demands and, if that’s not enough, HP also backs this product with their one year limited replacement plan that includes a year of phone and web based technical support as well.

Utilizing the power of the internet, the HP LaserJet 8150’s web features allow users to not only view toner levels remotely, but to automatically order ink from HP within the same program. Configuring the device and monitoring its usage can also be done via web. Lastly, a whole lineup of expandability options, such as a 100 sheet envelope feeder (only 10 can be loaded standard) and various staplers and stackers make the HP LaserJet 8150 not only powerful, but versatile as well and its built in features, such as duplexing, put it at the top of its class right out of the box.
