Dell’s 3110cn laser color printer is a very affordable middle priced and higher-middle-performing color laser printer. With this powerful office gadget even small start-up businesses can afford themselves a time saving and high quality color and black&white prints. This affordable machine has solid operating performances, with its up to 600 x 600 dpi max printing resolution for both mono and color prints, at the speed of 17 ppm for color and or 31 ppm for mono printing. Among other functions it ships with the integrated Ethernet port for network printing and there is a possibility of upgrading it with the additional devices, such as the duplex.
When it comes to dimensions, Dell’s 3110cn laser color printer is among the larger ones in the category. Its dimensions are 16” in width, 19” in depth, and 18½, in height and it weighs about 53 pounds. It is intended for small or home offices, but most of the printers in that category have also been a bit larger lately.
Pros:
This robust printing machine is supplied with the 250-sheet input feeder and the multipurpose 150-sheet tray. The initial Dell’s 3110cn laser color printer model is suitable for letter-sized and legal size of paper and it’s a single-side printing model. There is a possibility of upgrading the initial model with the double side print function, and for those with higher color printing demands, there is a version that can handle different types of paper.
The memory capacity of the Dell3110cn model is more than enough for the average everyday office workload; it is supplied with the 128MB of memory, upgradable to astonishing 1152MB. It is suitable for network printing, because of its 10/100BaseT Ethernet port, and can easily be connected to any computer, with its USB & Parallel ports.
Dell 3110 laser color printer gives excellent results in both mono and color printing. With the print speed of 31 pages per minute for black and white printing, and 17 pages of paper for color printing, all in the 600 x 600 dpi, it is much better than some other comparable printers. The last but not the least, it saves the toner using only black when printing in mono option.
The control panel of this Dell’s model is very suitable for its initial purpose; using in the home and small offices. Some of the functions, such as network settings and message receiving, can even be managed remotely. The LCD display with 2 lines of 16 characters, indicator LEDs, and the navigation panel are very easy to use.
Cons:
This cost effective model has a few disadvantages, and the large dimensions are on the top of the list. It will take a considerable desktop space, which can disturb the office working day routine. The largest amount of space inside the unit is being occupied with the color toner cartridge, so the large dimensions are just the necessary unwanted ‘side-effect’. The real disadvantage might be the position of the printer’s photosensitive parts, which are too close to the front panel, and are directly light-exposed when the panel opens. Changing of the toner could take a bit more time and effort for non-proficient users.
