With both an optional internal USB wireless adapter and automatic duplexing capabilities in one unit, the Dell 2335dn brings performance and user friendliness into a multifunction center that can print, copy, scan, and fax. By combining four pieces of hardware into a unit powerful enough to get multiple jobs done, even simultaneously, the Dell 2335dn is a great buy for the small office looking to add a wide variety of functionality to their business without sacrificing speed.
Impressively fast print speeds of up to 35 pages per minute make the Dell 2335dn as fast or faster than many models that come with much higher price tags, making it an industry leader in speed. Quality, though not the greatest, certainly doesn’t suffer when dealing in monochrome text or simple imagery with 600 x 600 dots per inch in resolution. Black and white imagery will suffer in clarity to some degree when compared to higher res units, as the Dell 2335dn is built for high speed, and massive output.
The Dell 2335dn comes in a manageable package, with a footprint of 18.3″ x 17.3″ x 18.1″ (W x D x H) and a weight of just under forty pounds. While not the smallest unit out there, it is definitely one of the fastest, due much in part to a 366MHz processor, and 128 MBs of standard built in memory. An internal, open DIMM slot allows for additional memory upgrades for even faster process time on complex projects, but no more than a total of 384 MBs including the initial amount.
Expandability doesn’t stop with memory, as an optional 250 sheet additional paper drawer can bring the unit’s total input capacity to 550 sheets, when counting the standard drawer of 250 sheets, and a 50 sheet multi purpose drawer that can also be used for letter and legal sized paper, plus additional sources such as envelopes, cardstock, labels, transparency, bond paper, and colored paper. A 150 sheet output tray also helps when dealing in large paper quantities.
A maximum monthly duty cycle of up to 35,000 pages per month lets you know that the Dell 2335dn means business, and can continue to operate without incident under relentless use, and built in automatic duplexing can help push total page data output even further by making double sided printing possible, reducing total page usage by as much as half, and helping to cut down on overall operating cost.
Networking is made possible by either a standard BaseT RJ-45 Ethernet port, or an optional internal wireless card that connects via the high speed, type B USB 2.0 port. A telephone and fax port is also implemented for high speed faxes and, even with the unit’s large quantity of implemented hardware, Dell offers a full year of coverage under their warranty with 24 hour technical support, as well as a year of their on site, next day repair plan that insures the minimum amount of down time in your investment. With this much coverage on this high quality of a product, the Dell 2335dn monochrome multifunctional center is a piece of hardware that it would be hard to go wrong with.
