With a standard, built in network controller, the Copystar CS-2550 offers not only connectivity for your entire network ready business, but rapid print speeds and high output. It also allows buyers to customize the unit with multifunctional expandability including optional hardware add ons such as a fax modem and a scanner, maximizing the versatility of the machine.
At 25 pages per minute print speed, the Copystar CS-2550 will keep printing and copying functions moving on at a rapid pace. When a Super G3 fax modem hardware add on is incorporated, transmission speeds can reach as little as 2 seconds per page. Not only can this expansion provide stand alone faxing ability, but also incorporates a network fax feature, allowing all fax functions and speed to be accessed directly from any network PC, including broadcasting to multiple destinations.
A standard fax memory of 8 MBs is expandable to 40 MBs for greater handling of larger projects, or simultaneous ones. The fax expansion also provides an easily accessible and navagatable address book, and is compatible with duplexing features as well. Scan hardware, when incorporated, can be adjusted from a range of resolutions between 200 and 600 dots per inch, and can operate at a mind blowing speed of up to 25 scans per minute.
Additional hardware add on options include a straight up duplexer, and paper drawers for additional storage with capacities of 300 sheets each. A powerful document processor utilizes a 50 sheet reverse automatic document feeder and can process up to 25 originals a minute. It also handles not only standard paper weights and sizes, but index up to 90 lb.
An internal finisher, a job separator, a platen cover, and even a copy stand are just a few more of the seemingly endless expansion options, but the core unit itself is not to be overlooked. The Copystar CS-2550’s paper storage capacity is high, with dual 300 sheet paper drawers, along with an additional 50 sheet multi purpose tray, bringing the standard paper storage capacity to 650 sheets, which is expandable to 1100 sheets via hardware additions.
Constant use of the Copystar CS-2550 will not be a problem thanks to its maximum monthly duty cycle of 40,000 printed pages, and a drum cycle of an outstanding 300,000 sheets. Each toner cartridge can print up to 15,000 sheets with a 5% yield, keeping toner replacement time at a minimum. Resolution quality is also high for both printing and copying, with 600 x 600 dots per inch copy quality, and 1200 dots per inch for fast printing.
Expandability continues in the memory department, with 64 MBs of standard memory that is upgradable to 190 MBs and, with a warm up time of only 20 seconds, projects of all types will suffer a minimum of downtime. Both first copy and first print times are also fast, running at a mere 4.9 seconds each. Overall, the Copystar CS-2550 is a powerful base model, but with so many additional hardware options, it can be suited to meet the output demand particulars of almost any sized business, and should satisfy even the pickiest consumer thanks to true customizability.
