A cost effective high quality internet facsimile system with a reasonably sized footprint is hard to come by, but look not further, the Canon LaserClass 710 fits the bill, and more. For the office or home user that lacks the requirement for a copy machine, a facsimile system is a great option, as it can fax, print, and scan with accuracy and detail.

The Canon LaserClass 710 can not only execute a standard fax via the built in Super G3 fax modem, it can also internet fax, and PC fax. Duplex printing allows for double sided output, even when interpreting single sided input. With an optional USB kit, PC printing is also available in duplex. Another option, a network adaptation kit, allows an entire office to link itself to the machine for unique features such as network scanning. While most MFCs are suited only for single computer scans, the LaserClass 710 is capable of a single pass scan that translates to an entire network of computers.

An oversized 70 sheet automatic document feeder keeps larger projects moving along quickly and smoothly, along with a rapid 1.1 second page scanning time and 19 pages per minute print output. Print resolution is adjustable up to a stunning 1200 dots per inch, which assures that your documents and presentations of all types will look and feel crisp, and professional.

With 8MBs of standard page memory, up to 510 pages of input data can be stored internally, and, when expanded to 40 MBs, the number is boosted up to 1,500 pages. When the optional printer kit and network kit are implemented, incoming PC faxes are possible. Whereas most PC fax capable machines on a network are only capable of outgoing faxes, the Canon LaserClass 710 utilizes automatic inbound routing by sub-adress, telephone number, and e mail, allowing the user to receive faxes directly to his computer.

With 200 speed and group dials, an extensive phone book can be stored on board in the machine and accessed through the built in LCD display for easy navigation. A confidential mail box system allows individual users to keep file sets private from others, and a soft counter, and broadcasting ability are just a few of the Canon LaserClass 710’s comprehensive fax options.

An optional dual line hardware kit doubles the faxing capability of the machine, allowing two faxes to be sent or received at once, or even a fax to be sent while another one is being received. Offices with extremely high faxing traffic, who don’t wish to purchase separate fax machines, can consider dual line operation as critical.

A 20,000 impression per month maximum duty cycle allows for almost constant use of this fax machine and an ultra fine fax resolution mode of 406 x 391 dots per inch insure that both quantity and quality of faxes are both at a premium level. The Canon LaserClass 710 sports a reasonable footprint (18-1/8″ x 19-3/4″ x 19-3/4″) and weight, making it a considerable option for either a small office, or a home business that relies extensively on fax communication, with little demand for a copy function.
