There are many multifunctional centers on the market today, and many of them operate with similar specifications as the Canon ImageClass MF4350, but few are as small in footprint, and in price. This fairly compact unit not only squeezes a lot of power into a small package, thanks to features such as Canon’s space saving single cartridge system, it also keeps the price point at a bargain level, making this unit a great buy for almost any small business.
With Canon’s own single cartridge system, drum and toner units are combined into a single device which is easily swappable, and also spatially efficient. It also cuts down on staggered toner changes, which sometimes can result in wasted ink. Another space saving feature is the 250 sheet paper tray. Though the tray is only half the size of a ream of paper, it helps keep the unit at a minimalistic size, with dimensions of 18″ Height x 15.4″ Width x 21″ Depth, and a weight of about forty pounds.
The Canon ImageClass MF4350 earns its title of four-in-one unit, sporting fully functional print, fax, copy, and scan features. It comes with duplexing for double sided printing and copying, and even faxing. Thanks to Canon’s innovative design, it also has a programmable option for copying single sided input onto double sided sheets, cutting total paper consumption almost in half and saving your business money. For larger presentations, duplexing also brings to the table a professional look and feel not found in a stack of single sided printouts.
Like the Canon ImageClass MF4350’s ability to reduce paper usage, it also cuts down on energy consumption, making it an eco friendly machine that is recognized as Energy Star certified, and is also green compliant. Reducing energy also helps to slightly lower overall operating costs, and therefore, ultimately, total cost per page.
The maximum monthly duty cycle is a limited 7,500 sheets and, with a maximum daily duty cycle at an even more limited 250 sheets, it’s safe to say that the Canon ImageClass MF4350 is intended as a light to medium duty printer. For offices with extremely high output demands, such as those running their printer on a network, it would be best to look elsewhere, but for the individual user or single console setup, the MF4350 should suffice as far as production.
Speed and resolution specifications are high, with copy and print speeds both topping out at 23 pages per minute, with resolutions at a maximum of 1200 x 600 dots per inch. Scanning quality is slightly lower at 600 x 600 dots per inch optical, but interpolated scan can be set as high as 9600 dpi at 24 bit full color. A Super G3 Fax modem has been built in, but unfortunately no network card, as the only access port is a USB 2.0 high speed terminal.
For an office or home user whose workload demands a full array of high performing features across the board, and not necessarily an extremely high page output, the Canon ImageClass MF4350 could serve as an excellent, and affordable, option.
