When workspace is limited, size is crucial when it comes to office hardware. Industrial grade copy machines can prove to be bulky, and expensive, and occasionally stand alone, personal copy machines stand out as the appropriate purchase. With the Canon Copier PC-941, performance comes in a small package.

Convenient, single touch controls make the Canon Copier PC-941 easy to use for any level of user, and finely tunable features such as manually overridable copy exposure will make even the experts happy. Another adjustable feature is the zoom capabilities, which can be tweaked by single percentage increments for the most precise size control. For quicker reduction and enlargements, preset ratios of 78 and 86 percent are selectable instantly, along with the maximum and minimum zoom ratios of 70 percent and 141 percent; great numbers for an analog unit such as this.

Other exposure modes are an automatic mode for simple and fast production, and a photo mode that is designed specifically for better tone conversion to black and white from color images, or detailed monochrome. The toner saver mode reduces exposure overall, resulting in lighter images, and less toner usage, which cuts down on cost per page.

With approximately 4000 pages worth of yield in each cartridge, toner changes will be few and far between, even when utilizing the Canon Copier PC-941’s maximum single operation copy amount of 100. Toner swaps will also be simple, and user friendly, thanks to Canon’s patented single cartridge system, which eliminates confusing insertion of toner into drum units, and combines them into a single, convenient device.

What good would a personal device be if it weren’t of manageable size? The Canon Copier PC-941 comes in a medium sized package with a very reasonable total weight, with a footprint of 19 5/8″ x 17 5/8″ x 11 3/4″, sitting at 42.5 pounds including the cartridge, but not paper, and with a hefty front loading paper tray of 250 sheets total capacity, the difference would be notable. The other paper input option is a very versatile single multi use slot, which allows sizes of paper other than letter, and legal, such as in the tray, to be used with the copy machine.

It also can operate with thicknesses much higher than the semi standard 20 lb weight, making greeting cards, transparencies, and card stock fully compatible. Copy source material, on the other hand, can come at almost endless thicknesses, thanks to a fully openable flip top, and legal size document platen glass.

Copy speeds can sometimes suffer in analog, stand alone units, and the Canon Copier PC-941 barely escapes this downside, with 13 copies per minute in letter size, and 11 copies per minute in legal. It is still much faster than the fully portable units, but also comes at a significantly higher price tag. Additionally, thanks to Canon’s rapid FUSION technology, warm up times are completely eliminated, and time to first print is a mere ten seconds, boosting overall speed for most applications, and making the Canon Copier PC-941 a competitive machine in the world of home use, or small office, personal copy machines.
