Now, with the Brother MFC-9840CDW, you can do even more. Brother has optimized the versatility of its color printer/fax line by including built in high speed wireless that makes the process of networking your entire office with the device simple. Also new to this model is full featured duplexing for double sided printing, copying, and faxing.
Speed will not suffer when printing in color with the MFC-9840CDW, as images and charts can be produced at equal speeds to black and white text at a swift 21 pages per minute. An optional 500 sheet expandable paper tray will also potentially keep your workload moving, totaling the MFC-9840CDW’s possible input capacity to 800 sheets when combined with the 250 sheet standard tray, and the 50 sheet multi purpose tray. The large MPT can assist you in scanning and faxing large quantities of hard copies, though copy speed is limited to 17 pages per minute.
Transferring media in attractive full color is not limited only to printing and copying. The MFC-9840CDW can also pull off an impressive full color fax when communicating with another machine with color fax capabilities. Thanks to fully automatic duplexing you can even receive double sided color brochures and presentations directly from the phone lines. Even large projects will be sent and received quickly thanks to the 33.6K bps fax modem, which can transmit as fast as 2 seconds per page, though more complex jobs will move slower.
With so many ways to connect, including a USB interface and networking, handing data is fast and efficient. Brother has even included a USB direct front interface on this unit that allows you to connect your mobile USB device directly to the unit for color printing and scanning in JPEG or PDF formats. You can also connect any PictBridge compatible digital camera or device, and navigate through your files thanks to the huge, easy to read backlit LCD display. When scanning data off the machine onto your storage device, the unit offers optical scan resolutions of 1200 X 2400 dots per inch and interpolated at 19,200 dpi.
Emulation is key when dealing with complex imagery, and the MFC-9840CDW is compatible with PCL-6 and BR-Script 3 for unique print jobs on either a PC or a Mac. Having a high yield toner option is also important on a unit designed for high output, and high capacity black, and color, cartridges are available. Equally critical is a high level of durability and in this case Brother promises a maximum monthly duty cycle of 35,000 printed pages, assuring that large quantities of paper handling will not pose a threat to your productivity.
